How is Body/Mind Synthesis different than other approaches?

My integrative approach to therapy and healing quickly gets to the core of a person’s issues.

integrative approach born from experience

I believe that in order to heal we must address all aspects of our being: mind, body and spirit.  The work I do combines many modalities in order to achieve this integration.

For the last 30 plus years my passion has been to explore what it means to be “whole” and integrated. I have sought out my own healing as well as assisted others in a way that “synthesizes” all aspects of our being – body, mind, emotions and spirit. I have studied and worked with many healers and been through my own healing journey from Lyme disease. Through that process I have experienced first- hand how important it is to have healing partners to help you remain hopeful when you are in the depth of illness. My journey has helped me bring more compassion to my work and find ways to  help ease my client’s suffering.

I obtained my MA in Holistic Therapies in 1983 and worked in the field of mental health in a variety of settings as a mental health counselor with chronically mentally ill patients for many years. In 1995 I opened my practice in Body/Mind Synthesis and have been utilizing an integrative, mind/body approach as a Psychotherapist combining energy healing, emotional clearing, and Psychotherapy.

I became certified in QNRT, Quantum Neuro Reset Therapy in 2016, and completed advanced certification in 2018. I am also certified in Jin Shin Jyutsu Energy healing, Acupressure, and  Vini Yoga which I taught for over 10 years. I completed levels one and two in Touch for Health Kinesiology, Spring Forest Qi Gong and Reiki. In addition I have studied Psychosynthesis and Jungian Transpersonal Therapies, Emotional Repatterning, Emotional Freedom Technique, and Mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR) all of which I utilize in my work with clients.

Though I’m a native of Minnesota I went to graduate school on the East coast. I met my husband in Connecticut and we have a son who is also in the field of counseling who lives here in Minneapolis. My therapy dog, Chloe greets my clients every day at the office and makes them feel at home.

I love yoga, gardening, biking, kayaking, and spend as much time as I can by or in the water! I am grateful to be able to help my clients get to the root of their emotional and physical pain and shift their patterns so they can live from their sense of wholeness and health!

With her feet rooted in the earth and her “wings” connecting with the heavens she is birthing a new part of herself. This is the journey of Emergence and Transformation. Becoming the person we are meant to be. Body/Mind Synthesis.
